Frank Keefer : thought for the day 12/23 the "why" and the team

 

Hello everyone,

 

What a crazy week! My new group in Northern VA has a requirement called Friday Factoids. Each member responds on Fridays with what they did during that week to build their business - the results producing activities. What a great idea! My Friday Factioid would be to report almost 35 three way calls this week. Wow! That's exciting. I built my business doing 3 way calls and was going to dedicate my thought for the day to how to effectively do 3 way calls but a situation came up that merits immediate addressing so I will get back with you tomorrow  re: 3 way calls.

 

The subject today is the "why" and the "team".

 

Before I bring someone into the business - before YOU bring someone into the business it is important, no, critical, to get them to identify their "why," their reason for doing the business. If they don't have a strong reason, a strong "why," they'll never hang around if the perceive the "going as getting tough." It is when they are ready to quit that you can refer them back to their "why" (e.g. paying for their kid's college, paying off their home, spending more time with their kids or spouse, etc) and ask them,  "Is that (their why) no longer important to you?" Those simple words are often enough to get them back on track. You, too, need to focus on your "why," particularly at those times when you become discouraged. Me? I never get discouraged because I've been around long enough to know that in this plan, unlike any other that I have ever seen, you are always on your way to success. It's a question of "when" not "if."

 

My original "why" to leave the corporate world was to spend more time with my wife. When I discovered the incredible Market America MPCP (Management Performance Compensation Plan) my "why" was two fold: to create more million dollar earners per capita in  a shorter period of time than anyone in the history of the direct sales industry and to create the lion's share of corporate revenues. I accomplished both goals. My goal was never to be the top money earner in the company or make a million dollars a year. I knew those things would happen if I focused on my true "why." I accomplished both of my "why's" and of the second two, which were not my goals, the first happened and I was within weeks of attaining the second when my heart pooped out and the doctors gave me a death sentence.

 

After a long hiatus I have returned to work because I absolutely love it. I do not have the stamina to work as hard as I did because my heart condition is not correctible but I have learned to live with it and refuse to use it as an excuse for being non productive. As you may know, Gingie and I are set for live because we built the business right. Why then am I working like a maniac? I believe it is because our Heavenly Father gave me a second chance to make a difference in  the lives of others and we are committed to that purpose. A few hundred thousand dollars more at my stage is not going to make any difference in my life, so money in my pocket is not the issue but if I can help others get to where we are what a blessing that would be!

 

After 25 years in this profession and 19 years with Market America I know how to build this business. There is a reason why I have created so many top money earners. It's because I have made all of the mistakes. I know what works and what doesn't work. I know the fastest way to a rewarding and secure financial future. My method is proven beyond any shadow of a doubt. The results speak for themselves. After nearly two decades the company has finally adopted my approach and it is now being taught in Market America's Special Business Building Seminars in Miami and New York which cost $1,000 to attend. I freely share those tips with you and alert you up front as to the way the business is built in my organization. The prospective candidate has a choice to follow my game plan or it will be my pleasure, with absolutely no hard feelings, to direct them to an organization with a more average, less stringent approach where they can do their own thing. The fact is that the Chinese have adopted my methodology. Do you see any Chinese hitting pin levels in the Powerline? They have the discipline to follow the Keefer System, understand group responsibilities and are not salacious for instant gratification.

 

Common sense should tell anyone with two brain cells that I want each of you to be as successful as possible as soon as possible. If you are part of my organization your success adds to my security. Why would I tell you the wrong thing? It would make no sense. EVERY person who has ever compromised my system has paid the price in the long run.

 

That system is all about building one leg at a time and maximum transfer buy. That means the first three sponsors go in the common leg before you even begin to build the inside leg and everyone finds 150/30 BV/IBV to move or use.  When everyone plays by the same rules it not only produces instant and massive BV volumes but builds esprit de corps for the team. EVERYONE is on their way together to success and I am all about team. T.E.A.M: Together Everyone Achieves More. Individually, the sponsoring requirement also provides security in the event you lose a personally sponsored person which ultimately will happen even if it is through death.

 

Occasionally folks will look at the common or power leg and see massive volume and rationalize that they are losing money. They will then put their next sponsors on their inside leg whether they have followed through on their three person commitment for the common good or not. Occasionally they will find someone whom they perceive as a superstar and they will put them on their inside organization, again regardless of whether they have satisfied their group commitment (which is really for their own long term security although they are not yet sophisticated enough to see it that way) because the want to get a "leg up" or a "head start" on their inside leg. 

 

Why would some folks do that? Answer: Greed: pure and simple. Make no mistake, what they are really saying is "To hell with the group. I'm out for myself." What they don't realize is that it will come back to bite them. It always has - in one way or another, in EVERY case that I have ever seen. Their greed has blinded them to the fact that nobody wants success for them more than I do. I'm not doing in the business at this stage of my life for the money. It's the glory! Every successful person is a feather in my hat. It is part of my legacy and my legend. At my age and financial situation that's the deal.

 

Equally devastating for the abrogator is that it he or she has voluntarily excised him or herself from the team. They voluntarily showed by their actions that they are more important than the team. That's fine. I hope they have fun building the business by themselves because in my mind thay are no longer on the team. I have no time for them. Neither should anyone else because it breeds an attitude of condonation which will eventually become a cancer and destroy everyone's chance to maximize success. 

 

Think about it again. My goal is to help each and everyone achieve success as quickly and securely as possible. At the risk of aounding arogant I will tell you that unless you have more experience than me you're an idiot to think your approach is better. You have voluntarily become what I call a casualty of war. You remind me of the replacements we used to get in Vietnam who would step,off of the helicopter all filled with piss and vinegar and announce, "I'm here to kill Viet Cong."  I'd advise them that if they wanted to stay alive to shut up and listen but they always knew better. Sadly, it was only a matter of time before they ended up in a body bag.

 

Enough said.

 

Below is a letter from a dear friend. His brother, Steve, who passed away four years ago, was my best friend in Market America. Steve was  bigger than life and a true giant in this company. The diagnostic test was his creation. Read and embrace Bill's message.

Hello Everyone,

 

Another year has passed for us all. I have been doing some reflecting as a very close friend passed on this week. This wonderful woman lived on Long Island. It was unexpected, she died in her sleep. The news hit my wife and I like a brick wall. But there is a message of significance for me and possibly for you in my thoughts.

 

 

 

This couple planned for the future. They had the money to give and help their family in times of need. They had at least eight years of enjoying life to it's fullest. They were able to spend as much time with grandchildren and family who have moved to other states. They went on cruises, vacations and had a couple of time shares and at least one condo near one of their children's family in North Carolina. They didn't have to work. On the spur of the moment they could do whatever they wanted. The income provided them a life that they loved. And, they were able to share this life with others. They were giving people who helped others when ever they could.

 

I just thought of my brother who built his Market America business in 3 years, developing three income centers that were all producing. He was a director within three years. He didn't need to earn more money. He didn't have to work, only if he chose to work. He did what he wanted to do. He paid for his daughters education at a prestigous college with Market America cash. It was all possible because he applied himself and believed. He didn't wait on other peoples time tables or availability. He applied what he learned at meetings and seminars. He actually put the teachings into action and taught others. He helped and mentored others who still appreciate him today.

 

He was inventive. He would do whatever it took to be successful.

 

In fact, because our Market America income is will-able, my mother, niece and nephew receive a check from Market America every Monday! That is truly amazing.(My brother passed away over four years ago).

 

I want for you the freedom, the lifestyle, the ability to enjoy life to it's fullest! You can make this happen in this upcoming year in Market America. If you want it bad enough you can make it happen. The whole system and blueprint are here.

 

I didn't write this whole letter to sell you a tickets but I do know how important attending events are to everyone. Simply, those who go to events, trainings and meetings are the ones who succeed. Those who choose not to attend will likely not succeed. It is a fact, it is historical. Those who take notes and go back to those notes and put them into action will more likely succeed.

 

Be honest with yourself. What have you done this past year to make your Market America business successful? Did you treat it like a business. How many new customers and distributors did you add to your team this year. How many are going to the MA World Conference? Your 2012 will be measured by you and your team mates attending and then taking action! It's that simple.

 

This letter was going to be a short note wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah.I still wish you that. But now more that that, I wish you a good, happy and full-filling life!!!  I know that this vehicle, Market America, can help provide it for you, in a short period of time. It depends on you to take the ingredients, follow the recipe and create the life you will love!
